Custom fishing poles are more
than just fishing poles; they are fishing poles with class! Prestige
Poles was founded in 2003 by the father and son team of Matt and Earl Hart.
It was always a dream of mine to hand-craft fishing poles for family and
friends. It wasn't long before I was experimenting with different types
of threads, guides and poles in my basement, while my dad was busy in the
wood shop learning how to turn handles. I'm sorry to say that a few
trees gave their lives before the handle process was perfected!
The rest, as they say, is history...
Prestige Poles takes great pride in using only top-quality materials to
insure the best possible fishing experience for you and your family. We
stand behind all of our work and offer a full repair guarantee if anything
goes wrong with the workmanship of our products. Since we only use
high quality blanks from manufacturers like St. Croix, G. Loomis and Rogue
Rods, the manufacturer's warranty will work the same as if you'd purchased
the rod at any retail store.
We start by using only high quality blanks from St. Croix, G. Loomis and Rogue Rods. We do not, and will never, build a custom rod from a lower quality blank manufacturer. Also, we will never use a 'factory second, look alike, prototype or similar to' blank. We only use factory firsts! If you are going to spend good money on a custom rod, do yourself a favor and make sure that you are getting only a high quality blank.
The best part about our rods is
the handle. All of our poles are made using Red Cedar wood for the
handle, foregrip and reel seat. Why do we do this? First, for
the natural beauty. Red Cedar handles turn out different every time.
There usually is a mixture of red and white wood. Sometimes it is
half and half, sometimes swirled, sometimes all white or all red.
We then use a 2-part epoxy to cover, seal and protect the wood. We
apply a minimum of 2 coats. The epoxy sets up rock hard for a lifetime
of protection.
